Lishaaaaaaaa......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISHA (aka Ali Moo Moo, Ali)!!! Hope you had a brill day, today, and blessed be, for an even better year, filled with lovely surprises like the one Jean and Er brought to you (Bless them).
It was a great dinner, we had, in honour of Alisha, this evening, at Dodgy 3... which by far, is the poshest dodgy restaurant we've been to. And then, the creme de la crope, was when Erica and Jean Marie went out, and we thought they were going to the toilet, but they returned, with this huge cake, and everyone started singing Happy Birthday... Oh... these are the memories I wouldn't give up for anything!
So, this is just a little break, from the keeping the head down, and working, to say a big shout out to Alisha! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUN!

Study Study Study...
I know today is supposed to be phone day, and everything, but I just can't leave the flat right now... had 2 minutes from my break, so decided to come online, and update everyone, etc, and whatnot. Happy Birthday, to Aunty Dotti! Micro lab is on Tuesday, but apparently it helps alot when you have the past papers, so got Nigel to come up here, with them, bless him. He came up, yesterday, and we were planning over dinner, about what the house arrangements were going to be like, this summer, and this year.
I realised that I actually don't know the house, still... have to go back, and check it out again. Blah...
They're actually thinking of getting a dog, though! The one time I could get a cat, and I'm still being over - ruled! Argh... Julian says I need to toughen up, like get street sense kinda thing, and for once, I agree with him... so erm... I don't know... whats' the consensus, people? Sensitive? Or Street? As if I could pull off the street sense type. lol... Just wanted to amuse everyone, for a few seconds, there.
Kurleigh, Mark, Ruston and Devon could all testify that this is one Mission Impossible, that wouldn't actually make it to the movies, with Tom Cruise, mainly cause he actually wouldn't succeed, there. :P
Ah well... back to Micro, then. Today, going to do some summaries, on the subject, and then at one, Julian and I are going to discuss some of the topics, in the kitchen. Looking out the window, and seeing people going to a designated room in Trinity Halls, called the Study Room... sigh... it's times like this that I actually miss the library, though.

Well...
The major exam is finished... I'm not saying a word about it, till the results come out. It wasn't really an exam, though. This is just Trinity's way of messing with our minds -
" examination
• noun 1 a detailed inspection or investigation. 2 a formal test of knowledge or proficiency in a subject or skill. "
This being from the Oxford Dictionary. The end of year exam, for the Pharmacology module of the Junior Sophister class of Physic, Trinity College did not come close to achieving the discipline of this definition. On the first point, I ask, why must a student study, and pore over his third term, and second term notes, and lecture material, when out of the 10 short answer questions given, 8 of them were from first term? (WHICH might I add, was already examined, in that term!)
Sigh... I don't know what Trinity College is trying to do to us. Ah well... on the whole, I just came online, to also say that mummy and Manisha are planning a trip to Canada, 2 weeks after I come down. Petition to have me stay, friends! I am coming down for a reason! Back to studying, for me, now, for the Microbiology Lab...

Just A Little One...
Haven't heard that many times :P But seriously, I just decided to take a little break from all the studying, and drowning under piles of Pharmacological drug name, side effects, and modes of action, to amuse the world, as to just how crazy I've become.
Sometime during the week, I decided I learnt alot better, when I was trying to explain to Julian, cause he asks these questions, and as frustrating as they are, unless you really know your work, you can't answer them! So it's a good way to gauge yourself. Thus, Monday (or Tuesday) saw me drawing a picture of a face, and placing the bullet card (plaque card) on my pillow, which I placed upright... so that I could pretend it was a person. Wait, people, it doesn't stop there...
Yesterday, I was interrupted for five minutes, during studying, by a question, that just happened to pop up out of nowhere, (cause I surely wasn't studying that topic!) " Is the skin fluid or solid?" And I actually stopped speaking out loud, to pull on my skin, for a while, thinking about whether it would take the shape of the bottom of a container, if it were put in it (to quote Physics, Form 2, Andre Lodhar, Naparima College).
And finally, the creme de la crope - stress isn't good, at all. It can make or break a person, and many times, I find myself, just getting annoyed with myself, for not remembering a thing about something that I had just read, a few minutes, before. Which is why, about 5 minutes, after everytime I shower, you'd find me with a towel wrapped around myself, making ripples in the water (that's accumulated there, because I think my shower has a cause of glaucoma - i.e. poor drainage) saying, " Kiran, you ARE a smart guy. You wouldn't have made it here, by just luck alone!"
DON'T YA JUST LOVE EXAMS, PEOPLE!?!?!

The Cat's Out Of The Bag, Now...
So, I guess seeing as everyone knows, there's no harm in saying this - yes, people, what you've heard is true - I am indeed coming back this year, this summer, this July. See you then :)
On the side of me that feels awe for people, I was talking to Ibrahim, yesterday, in the cafe, while we were having lunch (I swear, the longest conversation I had with a Mauritian, excluding Pooja) and he's cool. He's really nice, actually. Got that from the infrequent transient interactions we have with the Mauritian Coalition before, anyway. This convo, though gives me a reason to blog, cause after I left, and I was thinking about it, it really put everything into perspective!
Ibrahim asked me what my schol was like, and what rank did I place. I was explaining to him about the 200 schols, and what Pres Gold is, and Open Schols, etc etc. Then, he kept badgering me (in a nice way) about where exactly I stood, in the 200. So I asked him, what their system was like, and he was saying how it's only the first 7 people who get schols, from Mauritius. Then he went on to say how all the kids write an exam, kinda like a 15 year old version of Common Entrance, so it puts you in a school for Lower and Upper Six. The best school is Royal College of Mauritius, I think. And they tally up all 14000 students - 7000 boys, and 7000 girls, and the first 150 go to that RCM, which is like THE one and only. Like the NAPS of Mauritius. :) Apparently Ishvar was number 140, and Ibrahim was number 38! I was reeling when he told me. Like, to be in the top 38... WOW! Then he said that Pooja was number 27 in the girls! I was blown away. I'm just there like... erm... wow. I am VERY impressed.
Which puts into perspective the fact that I am with the creme de la crope of the world! Argh... have to work... argh argh argh...

Once Again...
Exams are on the 18th of May, and so, once more, blogging may not be an option for me... every once in a while, though, when I need to vent feelings, blah blah...
This week has more or less been uneventful. I went into a MAJOR mood swing, for some reason, like I was extremely, terribly moody, for some reason... actually, no, it was for alot fo small stuff, some of which I knew was out of my control, until the next week, and some of it, was just frustrating.
So I just retracted, into my shell, and got VERY anti - social, as in I wasn't going to any of the dinners, or going out. The only bad thing to this, was that Nigel and Julian noticed, and asked me about it. (Actually, in retrospect, I'm really glad they did, cause it helped me to snap out of it.) Quite touching to me, though, cause it showed they cared (Did I expect anything less?) I mean, like the Monday we came back, I was really quiet, on the Tuesday, and Julian asked me on msn, later that night, if anything was wrong. Saw Nigel on Wednesday, and he asked me the same thing. Just hoping that they didn't get the brunt of it, cause that's what usually happens - when I get into one of my moods, the people closest to me happen to be standing in the full force of it. (Am I not a mental case? Hee hee... actually, I don't think so. I have emotions, I have my ups and downs. I just need to learn to focus them to positive things, and to be able to concentrate on what exactly is causing the prob, rather than letting it control me.)
4 Movies were seen during this week -
Zoolander, which I give one thumb sideways, one thumb down - I never really liked Ben Stiller, anyway, and in this movie, his acting was abysmal. The movie just took the mic out of Malaysia, models, etc etc. It was too stupid to be funny, though I will admit, I did laugh on some occasion or the other.
The Polar Express - which was a movie for Christmas, really. One thumb up one thumb down. It was alright... ish. Very er... in the spirit of Christmas, though, and a bit solemn, at the end, well, solemn with a happy note, I guess.
Robots on the other hand, gets 2 thumbs sideways. (For those who don't understand, 2 thumbs sideways is a bit lower than one thumb up one thumb down.) It was..... not to standard, with all the other computer animated movies, like the one above, Shrek, Finding Nemo, and so on. Amusing, but not funny, much.
Finally, Lemony Snicketts - A Series Of Unfortunate Events, was not only witty, and interesting, but had me laughing out loud, sometimes, even. I loved it, although it starts off on a sad note, the story, as it unwinds, grows onto, and you as you cheer the children on, you tend to become engrossed with what's going to happen next. For this movie, I was actually a bit sad that it ended, because, as sadistic as it sounded, I wanted some more unfortunate things to happen, so that Emily Browning could invent, something else, or the boy could astound with his recalling ability. 2 thumbs up!
And on that note, it's back to work for me...
